I know I am going to sound like some NBA recruiter, haha, but to be completely honest, there is no reason to not buy NBA League Pass (broadband for computer OR TV) if you are the type of fan I think you are (the type that asks these questions).
I tried for a season to use JTV and crap to try and watch the other games and teams in the NBA (07-08).
NBA League Pass on my laptop has been so lovely for the past few years. You can have 3 games going on the mosaic at once if you choose, though I watch 1 game at a time usually. Their entire software ARCHIVES EVERY SINGLE GAME from the entire season, so when it’s March 25th and some of those “it’s already over anyway” games are being played, you have FULL ACCESS TO EVERY SINGLE GAME.
You can either select it by “Date” or by “Team” (I prefer). I remember going back to watch Jennings score 55 last March, streaming it INSTANTLY at 480p quality. You can even add up to 12 players to follow, who appear at the bottom of the software, and it will keep track of their nightly production and give you information (let’s say… All 12 guys are from your fantasy bball team).
It’s a GREAT interface. The quality of the games is great.
EVERY day from October 26th(opening night) till the end of the season you will realize there’s usually 5-10 games on every night, sometimes more.
Then again, I run a basketball related site and I will re-watch games multiple times, watch hundreds of games every year (maybe thousand/s?) to analyze how it all goes.
Catch the “early bird” special and it’s basically $100 dollars……. Yes, I know that’s a lot of money. Last year I probably used it to watch about 300 full games, and who knows how many games I would watch the 1st and 4th quarters of….another 300? I mean that’s like paying 15 cents a game….. Depending.
I know $100 bucks is a lot of money, it’s a lot of money for me. But once you experience NBA League Pass officially, you will honestly laugh at yourself for trying to watch a game on Justin.tv….. I mean it’s so awful on JTV, the frame rate, resolution, color, EVERYTHING about “STREAMING GAMES ONLINE” is pretty much going to result in crap… Video and audio. I’m not hating on JTV, it’s great for watching old episodes of Seinfield and Fraiser…………..
(Hopefully someone has some more sites and links to have you chase around all season trying to watch a game online……. When in the back of your head you will realize you should of spent that 100 bucks on league pass. I hate how NBA.com charges money sometimes, like summer league, but they have such an amazing system/software with this League Pass and the ability to archive so much footage (15 games(30 teams) X 82 game season(15 x 82),….. Well over 1,000 games are at your instant access.
Heck, this year they might even have all of last years games archived in it still.
Just not having to worry about “will I be able to find a stream ANYwhere of the Knicks/Nets game(example) that is not on national TV, and knowing you can just click Launch League Pass and have the game on full screen (with player stats up to date for the game) within 30 seconds is a nice feeling. You can also check on other games during timeouts and commercials, or do what I do and just watch one east coast time game (4:00-5:00pm), one west coast game (7:00-7:30 pm), and then after that the games from that night are already archives/recorded files now and you can choose to watch any other game from that night (like I said, many nights there are 10+ games, and often there are 3-4 intriguing match-ups).
SIMPLE ANSWER: If you are a casual fan that doesn’t really know the game that well or have a team they follow all 82 games of, or maybe you are both, or possibly you try to watch as much NBA basketball as you can like myself…… Which really means your only answer is League Pass. LOL, I sound like I must work for them. But to be honest, all the friends I know and respect their knowledge of the game, they all save up for League Pass because they know it’s just worth it.
Throw a garage sale and buy it!
